 f Garfield and has grown out of the Garfield EPIC (Empower Peers & Inspire
  Change) Youth Coalition which was created in 2009 focusing on underage dr
 inking. Recently there has been increased awareness that Garfield’s youth 
 are using marijuana\, tobacco\, and alcohol at high rates. It was determin
 ed that there would need to be a stronger community effort if all these ob
 stacles were to be addressed. Under the leadership of the Bergen County Pr
 evention Coalition\, the Garfield EPIC Youth Coalition became the Garfield
  Prevention Coalition. With a new identity\, the Garfield Prevention Coali
 tion now seeks to actively engage adults as well as well as additional you
 th and to expand the mission to include tobacco\, marijuana\, and alcohol.
