I don’t even know where to start. Kathleen S. has made this entire process as smoothly as possible. She truly cares about what you’re going through, and will do everything in her power to help you. If you ever happen to be on the road to recovery make sure you contact her. I’d give this place/her more stars if I could.

Amanda's Story

After leaving treatment for an opioid use disorder, Amanda had to completely rebuild her life. She had no income or job prospects, a severely damaged relationship with her brother and her toddler daughter was in the custody of her sister. Amanda became a member of our STAR program (Support Team for Addiction Recovery), and began working with Recovery Specialists and Case Managers to stay on the path of recovery. Despite being uncertain about her future, Amanda committed herself to the program and formed connections with the other members. She attended every meeting and used the tools and skills she learned to improve her communication skills and strengthen her relationships. The STAR team encouraged her to express her emotions, engage with others and work on forgiveness. With their encouragement, she began to repair her relationship with her brother, and today she speaks to him almost every day. She has also worked on becoming an attentive mother to her little girl, and has a plan in place to regain custody of her. Last summer, she obtained a full-time job at a retail store, and her next goal is to move into an apartment of her own.

Amanda completed the STAR program in the fall and now serves as a volunteer, helping other men and women who are new to recovery. She says her experience has shown her that with support, community involvement and working together as a team, anything is possible.

Together, we are helping people in our community stay on the path of recovery and turn their lives around!
