Who qualifies for VITA?
Income less than $62,000 Bergen County Residents only, elderly/seniors, individuals with disabilities, and college students.
In 2017 Bergen Volunteers began free tax preparation services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for low-income individuals, seniors, and English Language learners. Over a lifetime, VITA has served over 550 individuals saving $96,000 in tax preparation services and totaling to $751,392 in refunds.
